Products

KORUZA is sold as a component for your system, not as a boxed product for the end user. Three families cover short and medium range. All of them are point-to-point, all run standard SFP transceivers, and all put the data on a beam nobody else can see.

Wireless optical links from 1 to 100 Gb/s, at a fraction of the cost of the alternatives.

The same optical core does three very different jobs: a rooftop link across a street, a data link inside a moving machine, and a contactless connector in a docking station.

Product families

KORUZA PRO

Fixed and medium-range outdoor links

The outdoor unit with motorised alignment, weatherproof housing and optional lens heating. It addresses fixed or medium-range links up to about 150 m, with special configuration reaching up to 1 km — for building-to-building connections, 5G backhaul and industrial telemetry that has to survive years of thermal movement and weather.

  • Range Up to 150 m (1 km special)
  • Environment Outdoor, weatherproof
  • Alignment Active, motorised
1 Gbps10 Gbps

KORUZA MINI

Compact links from 1 to 10 m

A compact 12 mm optical head for on-machine and in-enclosure use. It replaces drag-chain cabling across a controlled motion gap and carries data across a docking interface, with no connector pins to wear, corrode or misalign.

  • Range 1–10 m
  • Environment Indoor, in-enclosure
  • Alignment Fixed, mechanically referenced
10 Gbps100 Gbps

KORUZA MOD

Configurable modular platform

For customers who need a specific FSO capability rather than a fixed product. A mechanically aligned baseplate carries plug-in modules, so the optical path, data rate, range, tracking, control and packaging are all selected around the application. A MOD configuration can be delivered as a development platform, as a configured kit, or as the basis for a custom-designed product.

KORUZA MOD-Q

QKD integration and field-test platform

A configurable free-space optical platform for integrating and field-testing third-party QKD transmitters, receivers and key-management systems, with optional high-speed classical data transport, alignment, tracking and environmental monitoring. MOD-Q supplies the optical path and the physical layer; the quantum source, detection and security proof come from a QKD partner.

  • Range Pilot target up to 100 m
  • Environment Configurable
  • Alignment Beacon, coarse and fine pointing

Speed variants

Every family is available across four speed tiers. The optical head is the same — the tier is set by the SFP transceiver pair, which is also what makes a later upgrade a module swap rather than a new installation.

Modules are at different levels of readiness. We confirm the status of every requested item before making a final proposal.

KORUZA MOD

How the platform is built

At the heart of KORUZA MOD is a mechanically aligned optical baseplate. It houses up to eight plug-in modules, each fitting an allocated slot of 200 × 75 mm, and every module is designed for drop-in assembly. A system can be configured at order time or delivered as an assembled kit.

Optical modules

The FSO modules and their interfaces, selected according to the range and data rate the application needs.

System modules

The supporting pillar — beam alignment and tracking, data collection, signal splitting and external communication.

All modules are interoperable and integrated with the central control system, so monitoring system parameters, using the auto-tracking capability and reaching the other features works the same way whatever combination you assemble.

Inside a unit

Every KORUZA unit is built from the same five functional blocks:

Compute module

A Linux compute module running the alignment algorithms, high-speed data handling and management interface.

Optical arm

Lens to transceiver, with the alignment camera.

Move driver

Drives the two alignment motors.

Management link

Unit-to-unit management communication. Under development.

Enclosure and structure

Weatherproof enclosure with mounting options and cable entry points.

Reference system

A representative tracked 10 Gb/s machine-integration build, to give a sense of the physical envelope. Every figure changes with the configuration.

Sample configurations

Four combinations we have assembled from the catalogue. They are starting points for a conversation, not fixed SKUs.

01

Coherent FSO research

Coherent experiments live or die on link margin. This build puts two protocol-transparent 50 mm interfaces on each end, the heavy-load tracking mechanism, the main control module and a tracking camera, so the optics you bring can be pointed, held and monitored without you building any of that yourself.

02

Machine integration

Inside a machine, a moving axis needs a data link that does not care about electrical noise and never wears out. The base is the compact 10 Gb/s pair on a high-speed interface board; tracking, alignment and the main control module are added when the motion demands it.

03

Docking systems

Docking needs the link to come up quickly at the moment of docking, and to carry a lot of data once it does. The 25 Gb/s or 100 Gb/s pairs with matching high-speed interfaces cover it; for the most demanding cases, tracking, the main control module and a camera give short alignment times.

04

Tracked robotics link

Two compact units with a theta/phi tracking mechanism — one on the robot, one on a central pivot or hanging from the ceiling. A 10 Gb/s link holds for as long as line of sight is unobstructed, and handover between ceiling units is possible with a short outage.

The module set is still expanding, guided by what clients actually ask for. If your configuration is not in the catalogue, describe the application and we will tell you whether it is a combination we can already build.

Supporting modules

Beyond the optical head, a MOD configuration is assembled from interface, tracking, control and packaging modules. The final combination is selected from the application requirements.

How we integrate

Every project goes through the same three stages.

Technology feasibility and demo

We start by checking whether KORUZA can do the job at all: distance, motion, environment, throughput. Usually that ends with a demonstration, on your site or ours.

Integration development project

If it can, we run the integration as a paid project with you: optics, mechanics, interfaces, tracking and safety, tested against your requirements rather than ours.

Production

When the design is proven we build it in the quantities you need, from a pilot batch to series production.
