Alignment Engine

KORUZA v2 Pro units have embedded autonomous alignment engine. Upon installation the units are precisely aligned. Several factors can influence relative orientation of the two units (e.g. thermal expansion of buildings on which KORUZA v2 Pro units are mounted). For that reason an alignment engine is in place which has the following main tasks:
detect the link quality has decreased over time
invoke an external auto-alignment algorithm
During that procedure the alignment interface has complete control over movement and monitoring of both units. The engine can execute actions like:
move selected unit to desired position
move selected unit to its maximum
get current position of selected unit
set strategy for maxima selection
reset maximum of selected unit
start reading data from both units
Algorithms
The goal of alignment algorithms is to align both KORUZA v2 Pro units in a position where the strength of the received optical signal is maximized on both units. This can be done in various ways, applying different algorithms. A spiral tracking algorithm is currently implemented for demonstration and validation. 
Next steps
The next step in auto alignment is to enable external users and contributors to implement auto-tracking algorithm. 
Integrators and users can implement their own algorithms. There, it is important to obey the instructions and formatting such that their algorithm can be successfully imported by the alignment engine. The alignment engine is purposefully designed such that it does not care what the algorithm does within, as long as the input and output parameters are in the right format.
